A considered coastal apartment renovation in Clovelly, designed in-house by Ambient’s interior design team and constructed by Ambient to deliver a cohesive and highly resolved living environment.

Positioned directly in front of Clovelly Bowling Club, the apartment was comprehensively reworked through a complete revision of the original layout. The redesign focused on improving spatial flow, refining movement through the home, and strengthening the relationship between the interior and its coastal outlook. Every intervention was deliberate, with architecture and interior detailing developed as a single, integrated response.

Materiality plays a central role in the project. Super White dolomite natural stone is carried consistently through the kitchen and bathrooms, establishing a calm and unified foundation. The new kitchen and bar were custom designed, incorporating integrated appliances and bespoke joinery to maintain clean lines and visual continuity across the open-plan living area.

Along the hallway, integrated flush-finish doors conceal storage and services within full-height wall planes, allowing the walls to read as continuous and uninterrupted. This restrained detailing reduces visual noise and reinforces the clarity of the interior architecture.

Soft timber tones, balanced lighting, and precise detailing complement the natural stone surfaces, creating a space that feels composed and enduring. The result is an apartment that prioritises proportion, material integrity, and craftsmanship — a design-led renovation executed entirely under Ambient’s design and construct model.
