A pair of Hamptons-inspired duplexes in Cronulla, designed with light, texture, and timeless coastal character.

Positioned on a prominent corner block in Cronulla, 36 Oaks Street is home to a pair of detached duplexes that reinterpret the coastal Hamptons aesthetic with a contemporary edge. Designed and constructed by Ambient, the project balances symmetry with softness, while natural light, layered textures, and refined proportions shape both the exterior and interior spaces.

Externally, light-toned linear cladding and detailed timber elements create warmth, rhythm, and elegance. The restrained material palette ensures the architecture feels airy and timeless, allowing craftsmanship and detailing to take centre stage.

Inside, the homes are defined by openness and seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Generous volumes, subtle transitions between spaces, and pools integrated as natural extensions of the living environment all contribute to a calm, connected atmosphere.

Though cohesive in their architectural language, the duplexes are fully detached and uniquely articulated. The corner block orientation allows each home to engage with the streetscape differently, offering varied perspectives and privacy while maintaining harmony.

This project reflects Ambient’s approach to residential architecture: thoughtful, tactile, and quietly confident.

We’d love to hear from you!
